Frequently Asked
+ Can I still wear makeup?
YES! The only thing we ask is that you do not apply mascara to the eyelash extensions. Especially if you have volume extensions. When mascara is applied to volume fans, it causes the fans to close up. Your extensions will no longer appear fluffy, but instead will be clumpy. We do ask that all makeup be removed at the end of your day and your lashes washed with the cleanser that is given to you. This will help your extensions and natural lashes be free of debris. After all, we are working with a mucus membrane (your eyes) and we want to make sure that all vital organs stay healthy. Please keep in mind that while we do not discourage the wearing of makeup, it will affect your retention and will cause you to come in more regularly for infills.
+ How long do they last?
This largely depends on your lifestyle and what you feel comfortable with. We ask that you go no longer than four weeks without an infill. Humans shed between 2 to 5 eyelashes per DAY! Even with your extensions, your natural lashes will continue doing what they are meant to do. This will cause sparseness in your extensions. Even if your natural lash does not fully shed, they do grow. Think of any other hair that you have on your body- with time, it grows. When your lashes grow, your extensions go from being at the base of your lash line to further away.
+ How often will I need to come in for infills?
To ensure the health of your natural lashes, it is important to come in regularly for fills so that we can remove the lash extensions that have grown out. That way they are not causing unnecessary weight or twisting your natural lash. Like stated above, your lifestyle will also affect your retention. If you are extremely active, do hot yoga, swim a lot, and/or have oily skin it may cause more shedding of the extension. The more the lashes are submersed in water/sweat/oil/tears, the easier they will come off.
Any infill that is scheduled past four weeks from your last appointment will be charged as a fullset.
+ Do I need to take care of my extensions?
Lash extensions are a luxury service. Just like you wouldn’t mistreat your Chanel bag, you shouldn’t mistreat your investment in lashes.
We value the importance of having clean lashes! Because of this, every fullset comes with a care package. The package that is given to you is included in the price and you do not have to pay extra. In this package you will find clean disposable wands to brush your lashes with, a brush to cleanse with, and a lash cleanser.
Every night we ask that you wash your lashes with the cleanser to remove any debris/sweat/makeup/oil/tears that may accumulate throughout the day. The lash cleanser is NOT a makeup remover. We ask that you use an oil free makeup remover to thoroughly remove your makeup and then follow it up with the cleanser.
Clean lashes are not only healthy for you, but also allows new extensions that will be applied during your infill to bond properly. If there is any interference between the natural lash and the extension, lashes will not last as long and you will find yourself coming in to get an infill more frequently.
After your initial appointment, we will show you how to properly wash your lashes with the lash cleanser. The wand that is provided for you will be used to brush your lashes as often as you please. There is not a certain number of times you should brush your lashes, do this at your convenience.
Do NOT pull or pick at your extensions. Your hands have natural oils on them that will transfer to your lashes. Picking and pulling may also cause you to pluck your natural lash. This will lead to gaps and damage.
+ Will they ruin my natural lashes?
NO! When lashes are applied properly they will not interfere with your natural lash health. This is why it is important to go to a licensed and experienced lash artist. We take into consideration the length, strength, and health of your natural lashes. This will give us a fair estimate as to how much weight your natural lash can hold.
This is one reason why we discourage clients on wanting the exact look anther person may have. That person may be born with long, thick natural lashes, while you may have short and fragile natural lashes.
We will always keep your lash health a priority so that you can continue to wear your extensions, and, even, play with different looks.
